As AI technology advances push the forefront of our everyday lives more and more each year, there are a number of questions and fears that coincide with what lies ahead in the future of many career sectors. Artistic types and writers are among those who are left with many questions. Will AI replace me? Can AI create unique forms of art? Will a world with AI still value a connection to human emotion and feelings?
To open, it needs to be clearly stated that AI is a tool. Artificial intelligence is essentially a search engine on steroids with a plethora of algorithms it uses to generate information only after receiving input. In other words, garbage in, garbage out (GIGO). “Garbage in, garbage out, or GIGO, refers to the idea that in any system, the quality of output is determined by the quality of the input” (Awati).
With this in mind, let’s address some questions. Will deep learning artificial intelligence replace artists? Can AI create unique forms of art? The answer to both of these questions is no. AI can only produce what has been inputted into it. AI cannot replace the human mind nor can it uniquely create. Kai-Fu Lee says, “AI needs to be given a goal to optimize. It cannot invent, like scientists, novelists and artists can” (Lee). To put it differently, AI can imitate and process, but not produce raw art because there is no raw input. Now onto our final question.
Will a world with AI still value a connection to human emotion and feelings? Absolutely! Nurses, doctors, authors, teachers, and many other professions in life that require creativity or a cozy type of emotional human connection will never be replaced by AI. In AI Superpowers China, Silicon Valley and the New World Order, Kai-Fu Lee states:
“While AI has far surpassed humans at narrow tasks that can be optimized based on data, it remains stubbornly unable to interact naturally with people or imitate the dexterity of our fingers and limbs. It also cannot engage in cross-domain thinking on creative tasks or ones requiring complex strategy, jobs whose inputs and outcomes aren’t easily quantified”. (Lee, AI Superpowers China, Silicon Valley and the New World Order 135)
Ultimately, AI cannot use the individual style and writing voice you were given by God to place and craft words onto a page. AI can only copy. Remember GIGO. Laws at this time, 2025, are still vague surrounding copyright usage by AI. Therefore, protect yourself by submitting your published works to the Library of Congress or copyright office in your country. In doing so, you pay a fee and receive a Certificate of Registration which includes your name, date, and title of your copyrighted work. This is the best proof of ownership an author or writer can have. One other method of protection from AI is a copyright notice. The Authors Guild notes, “We recommend that you include a short notice on the cover or copyright page of your books, or at the top of posted articles or stories. Even though copyright law gives authors exclusive rights to decide if others can use their works, many tech companies, including AI developers, believe everything on the web is free to use” (The Authors Guild). As an example, here is a copyright notice from aaronozni.com. Thank you for reading. That’s all for now. Keep painting those words, and mind how you go.
Addendum: This is not a paid endorsement. Kai-Fu Lee’s book, AI Superpowers China, Silicon Valley and the New World Order, is an excellent resource for anyone wanting to learning more about AI.

Fantastic as always! Not only is it very interesting and well written, but it is also something I really needed. As someone who has decided to self-publish this is very useful and inspiring, and you emphasize that something created by man can never take the place of what God created with such perfection (the human mind and soul within us). I think you are doing a great job defending the humanity in us and the position of God in our lives as artists! Thank you very much for sharing! I really appreciate the effort! 😊
Can't read it right now but I promise I will later 😁
