Hello ladies and gentlemen!! As we begin February, there are some cool announcements I have to make. As a special thank you to current & future subscribers I have put together a special poetry ebook for you! The poems have been gathered from my posts here on Painted Word Primer, and I truly hope you enjoy them. There are two links available below, one in pdf format, and the other in epub.
In the future, more goodies like this will be made available to the Painted Word Primer writing community.
In addition to this, I have more good news to share. As many of you know, on the interwebs, it is very easy to get lost amongst other authors, writers, and lyricists. So, I’m going to try to introduce Author Interviews as way to highlight others. At this time, I’m not sure how often this will occur, but I am hoping for this to happen once per month. I will randomly pick a subscriber, ask you over DM if you’d like to participate, and send you the questions via DM. Answer them at your leisure, send them back, & I will post your answers and link your Substack on a post here on Painted Word Primer. This way a new audience gets to see who you are, and what you write.
I have also been tinkering with the idea for something called Finish the Poem. Here is how it will work. I will place two lines of a poem on a post with the title February (or the current month) Finish the Poem and will randomly pick a subscriber who replies in the comments with their own two lines, keeps it clean, and Likes and Restacks the post so others can take part as well. The winner will have their short poem featured in the newsletter along with a link to their Substack in the Painted Word Primer newsletter for the following month.
Ok, so with housekeeping out of the way there is one final update I have for everyone. In the previous newsletter, I had mentioned I was working on a mystery. Instead of revealing what the mystery is about in greater detail I’ve decided to keep that a mystery!! However, there is a plot twist! I will begin writing, and releasing short stories based upon those characters and exclusively share them here on Painted Word Primer, so we can all get to know these characters a bit better. That is all for now. Thank you for reading! Keep painting those words, & mind how you go.
P.S. In case you missed these, here are links to essays and poems from January on Painted Word Primer that everyone enjoyed.

Wow, this sounds really exciting!!! I can't wait to see what great things you have in store for us. I have really enjoyed your poems and articles 😊
This is super exciting news! I love the idea with Finish The Poem. I think it’ll be fun to see how it develops as it’s passed around from person to person.
Also, I’m super excited to see what you’ll reveal with your characters and your mystery project. If the gif is any indication of the time period then I am ever more excited. I love mysteries and things that occur during that time period.
