Cheer the Mind
A poem based on Psalm 37:4.
Psalm 37:4
“Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart” (Blue Letter Bible).
Promises defined.
Slowly refined.
Desires aligned.
Cheer the mind.
Let anxiety be declined.
Replace fear with faith outlined.
Delight first & last as part of the daily grind.
Effort never gets left unsigned.
Worry not in a bind.
Expect & redirect with prayer to remind,
Survival training can seem harsh & unkind.
But, pressure creates diamonds that sparkle when streamlined.
Be glad where you’re assigned.
There’s always new treasure to find.
Faith without the substance of hope is blind.
Standing to withstand while standing is not falling behind.
The moon and the stars watch over you as designed.
Birds sit in their nests reclined.
Songs are how they unwind,
Chanting in enchantment unconfined.
So whenever angst & misery make you feel resigned,
Cheer the mind and heart combined.
Now back to the beginning. Hit rewind.
Promises defined.
Slowly refined.
Desires aligned.
Cheer the mind.
